She's Back - With Presents!

She's back!  She's back!!  Our house party is over - and just in time - we JUST cleaned up our mess!  It was awesome!  She doesn't suspect a thing!  Well, ok - we did have to hire an outside cleaning service to clean up the nip and treats all over the house, AND we had to get a furniture repair service to come out and fix all of our (& our friends) claw marks. But sadly, our rein in the house is now over...  *sigh*

Anyway - it's great that our Mom is back because she brought back all sorts of presents for us - including a mousie shaped laser pointer!  Yay!

We wish everyone in the CB (& everywhere else!) a very Happy and Prosperous New Year in 2010!

Hi Everyone!

Yay!  It seems we're going to have one GREAT turn out for the House (Trashing) Party of 2009!  I'm having JayJay take notes for me - so Mom won't find out - hehe!  This is what we have so far...

Ok, so we're supplying the boxes, bags AND the ham - just for you, Chey!  (We live close to Smithfield, VA so we have some of the best ham around!)

Cheysuli and Gemini are bringing SALMON (yum!!!) straight from Pike's Place - Yay!

Catline Crew are bringing the Temptations and the Greenies - awesome!

Luna is bringing some yummy SALMON cookies & her very special toy mousie named David to play with!

Tygana of One Cats Nip is bringing the Nip Toys & Chick-hen for all you poultry lovers!

Eric & Flynn are going to bring LIVE MICE (can you believe it??  We'll have to round them up before our Mom gets home!)

Cats In Trees are going to try to bring some real live SNOW - so that we can all romp through it like they do!

The gang at Amy and the House of Cats are bringing Turkey - just in time for the holidays!

Harry Spotter & Fiona, you had asked what you two could bring - how about some warm, snuggly blankets for everyone?

Dante, Dylan and Domino are bringing in the Nip - Austin will be their BEST friends!

Laila & Minchie are bringing Niptinis - Now for the youngsters (less than 1 year old) who want to come - we'll have Catmilk for you!

Cory will be bringing the toilet paper to unroll and Grete (a few puppies are ok to come!) will be tossing around some pillows - Then we'll all join in for a fun game of THoE through the WHOLE house!

HP 2009 Countdown

Hello Everyone!

A lot of kitties expressed interest in coming over for our house party - from different countries, too!  We're SOOO excited!  We shall have a Merry Christmas, indeed!  We're gonna go all out - JayJay is gathering the bags and boxes - no plastic, though because once Austin starts biting on the plastic, he can't stop!

I'm getting the food together - Chey suggested ham, so we have ham chilling in the cold box!  Our favorite food is SALMON - so we have that, too!  Oh, and some temptations, greenies and other treats as well!

Austin is in charge of the toys - mousies, feather wands, balls, and other fun things!

Hmm, have we left anything out??

Well Mom is getting all packed up to go up north for Christmas, plans are underway for our house party!   We had made the comment that we would like to trash the place this week after Mom goes away - Eric and Flynn said they would come over and help!

As you can see, I tried to start early - but Mom caught me!

Flashback Friday

Happy Friday!

We hope everyone has had a good week, getting geared up for Christmas.  Mom is going back home to Syracuse for Christmas so not only are we getting abandoned for the holiday, we don't get any decorations to destroy...  Oh well, we can still wreck the house!

Yesterday our Mom went digging through her "vault-o-kitty" pictures and turned up a bunch of old photos of us.  As if she doesn't interfere enough - she's gonna make me post them every Friday...   So here is this week's picture:  Me with my fever mask...  How humiliating!  I had been sick with a fever a few years back & my face broke out in little white fur.

We've decided to join in hunting week!   Mom followed us around and, well frankly, ruined our fun with her stupid camera...  We were happily hunting for each other all over the house when Mom interrupted - how rude!

Austin's First Blog

Since Nico's being a big behind - er, is a bit behind, I'm gonna take over his blog for a little while...  Name's Austin, I am the oldest in the house (the oldest by 9 years) - I just joined the House Panthers last week. WooHa!  Everyone here has been so nice!  We love reading about all the kitties (& puppies) from the Cat Blogosphere!

I'm sorry, but I have to laugh - Nico actually thinks he is unloved around here.  He's such a big baby.  Well, actually he is a big scaredy cat, running and hiding at the slightest noise.  We each have a position to fill:  I am the older, more revered one. (Nico: you're the old cranky one!)  Nico is the whiney, pain-in-the-butt, self absorbed one and JayJay is the silly off the wall one.  Mom loves us all!  (Nico & I don't exactly get along...)

I won't say I run the house, but the younger kitties look up to me an follow my lead (well, JayJay at least) I follow Mom around the house crying - usually for food.  I have been known to snatch something right out of my Mom's hands and run.  I am what you call VERY food aggressive!  The only one who rivals me in this department is JayJay - who learned it from me!  I think I do this because I have hyperthyroidism - I'm supposed to take two pills a day, but Mom doesn't make me - instead she gives me two treats a day & even makes sure I eat them.  You could say I have her well trained!

Uh oh, time to eat again - Bye!

I have a quandary...  I think you love Austin & JayJay more than me.  You never give me rubs, treats or food off of your plate.  You even separate me from my brothers when I eat!  I think you give them special food and lock me, your unloved child, in another room so I won't get any.  You also yell at me when I do find something to eat!  What have I done to deserve this?

Dearest Nico,

I am SO sorry that you feel this way!  I love you no less than Austin or JayJay.  The reason I separate you from your brothers to eat is that they are BOTH food aggressive - and you aren't!  You wouldn't get a bit to eat if I didn't!   Second, you don't eat treats or my food - You bat around what I give you until one of your brothers eats it or else you bury it & I find it days later all nasty & gross - usually in my bed.  Third, I yell at you when are eating, because you are a. eating plastic, b. chewing on wood or c. eating paper.  Honey, you can't digest those things!  I give you rubs all the time - even when you put your butt in my face - which you seem to like to do...  Then you walk away - mid rub!  What am I supposed to do??

I think I am reverting back to my old kitten ways.  You see, although I wasn't a rescue, the lady who brought me into the world wasn't very nice to me.  She made all of us kittens stay out in the cold until we were old enough to be adopted out.  Then she brought us in with the big cats where we were hissed at and bullied around...  (Mom didn't know this until after she adopted me)  So when I was a baby & was brought home, I ran from my Mom because I thought she was just as mean as that lady was.  Through love and patience she won me over and now she's mine!  But Grandma on the other hand, I keep forgetting that she's not as mean as that lady was and still run and hide under the bed when she comes around...  Am I a hopeless case?

Jay's Adventure

Sheesh!  I should just change the name AGAIN to Jay's blog!  He went outside the other day while Mom was enjoying the sunshine & started sitting & eating like the goof he is...  I on the other hand don't go NEAR an open door.  Nope, this meezer is an indoor kitty - don't eat grass, don't like wet surfaces & don't like sunshine!  (I'm basically a high maintenance blogging slug!)
Jay's more of an adventurer - as soon as he got his bearings he wouldn't leave this shrub alone!

Remembering Tobey

Getting Ready for Christmas

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for the wonderful reception at the CatBlogoshpere! Me and my brothers have never met so many nice kitties and people - who knew they were all online! Yay!

So, last night, I was helping mom with the wrapping of presents. I like to help! But then JayJay had to come in and take over - he is such a pest & he can't sit still for very long... I think he has ADD or something!

He started by playing in the shopping bag that the presents came in, then he started tackling the empty wrapping paper roll! Anybody want a crazy bengal?? Mom couldn't even finish wrapping because Jay was playing with everything!

*sigh* Sometimes I wish I was an only child! Anyway - I'm going to go and work on the Christmas cards with Mom - hopefully Jay won't "help" today... I know we're new, but if you want a card from us, please email my Mom at cclark0412 at gmail.com

Name Change, Please!

Well, I've decided to change my blog name - to include my "polydactyl-ness". I am a proud poly now (though, Mom that still doesn't mean I want you to play with my feet!). When I was a kitten, I was a little self-conscious & was a little clumsy - well let's face it, I'm still a little clumsy! But then I met a small ginger cat named Tobey who was a poly, too! He had had a hard life before Mom took him in (wish I had a picture of him!) - He lived in the side of a building and was so skinny when a nice lady found him - he bit her but she took him in and fed him anyway. The niece of that nice lady turned out to be his forever Mom - My Mom, too! Anyway, Tobey convinced me that being a poly meant you were extra special & that you should show off your extra toes all the time! So I will in his honor. He's no longer with us (My Mom is still sad about that - he had developed a terrible bladder disease which became untreatable and he had to be helped to the rainbow bridge where he wouldn't hurt anymore) SOOOO, here's my foot! I will say it with pride, I am a Polydactyl Meezer! Yay!

I've decided to take over the blog for a while (well, I dictate and Mom types - I love it!) because I think my Mom is sick. She keeps sniffling and sneezing - which woke me up! JayJay is racing around and mews every time she sneezes. I think he thinks she's making that noise on purpose. I know better! The paparazzi was out today and caught me in a non picture mood - I can't help that I'm good looking (Mom says I'm beautiful, but I'm a guy! Darn it!) - I tried to grab the camera, but they got the shot anyway... I think I'm going to go & chase the little brat (Jay) he keeps taunting me and running away. I don't like to play with Austin too much - he's an grouchy old man with hyperthyroidism. He has to take two pills a day - Mom puts it in treat so he'll eat it. Once JayJay stole the treat when Austin and Mom weren't looking - hehe! When Mom found out, she frantically called the v-e-t who assured her Jay would be fine. Now she watches very closely to make sure Austin eats it all... Well, that's all for now - Jay get off of the tv!

So... Last Wednesday I was set to take in my crazy marble bengal, JayJay & received clearance at work to bring him in. I thought we would have a great day together since he is so social. Well you know what they say about the best laid plans... He was absolutely terrified at being in a strange place without his brothers. I just didn't think he would be that scared - especially since he is the only cat that doesn't run when people come to the house! Well, he "army-crawled" his way around my office & tried to fit under some very low lying cabinets! I felt so bad & there was nothing I could do for him. Later in the day he finally started to eat food and acknowledge people but he never came out of his shell entirely. Finally came the time to take him to the v-e-t & I packed him up in his carrier. Off we went!! I guess I didn't fasten the closure on the carrier correctly & he was able to push his way out - while I was driving down the highway! Next thing I knew he had clambered onto my lap, looked out the window & PEED ON ME! Either out of fright or a personal message to let me know he didn't have a good day... Needless to say we didn't make it to the v-e-t. Score one for the JayJay
