Nico: Mom has been using most of her spare time to paint lately...  NOT helping us kitties visit!!  As if that's a reasonable excuse, but here's some of the pictures she's been painting...

Mom: So every time I sit down to eat, I have to contend with Simon & his persuasive shakedown technique...

First he stares at me & meows, then he flops down next to me with this face - 

Next he rolls around looking really cute - 

If that doesn't work, he gets up & flops down next to me on the other side - (sorry, the lighting wasn't too good)

*sigh* Finally I give in & give him a little piece of chicken...  

But then, the other carnivores in the house are alerted -

ps. We are back - in a limited capacity.  We were hollering at our Mom so much 'cause we couldn't visit that she FINALLY gave in...  Yay!!

Great News for Beatrice!! ...& some other news

Beatrice found a home!!  YAY!!

Here is part of an email that we received yesterday from Judi -

I feel very blessed today.  Ms Beatrice went home with her new Mommy.  A VERY NICE woman who knows a lot about animals and speaks about her dogs the same way we speak about our kids.  
She calls them the Girls and says  that they totally understand the human langage.  That was the phrase she used in one of her e-mails and that told me right then and there that she loves her pets so much. 

She told me today that they are not her pets they are her family and children. 

I know that if anyone can make this situation work (with Beatrice -a cat and her 2 Huskies- dogs) it will be her.  Melody was already thinking of how she was going to get everyone to interact even before she was sure she was going to adopt B. 

So let's all say a prayer that B won't be returned and has finally found her Forever Loving Home.  I KNOW she will be spoiled beyond belief.  Melody was making a major stop at PetSmart on her way home to buy everything that kitty would need to make her life comfortable.  (food, scratching pad, bed, toys and whatever else she could think of)

Isn't this great??  Yay Beatrice!!  Good luck with your new home!!

...Our other news, well - We're going to be taking a brief hiatus while our Mom takes care of a few things around the house.  WE don't think we should be going on a hiatus from posting...  She said she will try to help us visit from time to time tho.  Come on now Woman, don't we get a vote??

Can Beatrice Find A Home?? Please!!

Simon: Hello Everyone,

I promise we'll be around to visit everyone soon - but I felt posting about Beatrice took priority over everything else today!!  Beatrice is a beautiful snowshoe who was left at the same high-kill shelter me & my siblings were dumped at in Kentucky.  Judi, the same lady who arranged our rescue, has come forth once again to save Beatrice from being PTS.  Unfortunately, Beatrice is not settling in well at Judi's house of many (mostly siamese) kitties, she's so afraid of the other cats that Judi has had to isolate her in a cage (because she just doesn't have any more room for her)

Here is Judi's description of Beatrice:

I rescued Beatrice from a High Kill Shelter in KY where she was very close to being PTS.  She was brought into the Shelter as a stray so nothing is known about her background.  She is a  Snowshoe (Siamese), a petite little thing, probably about 2 yrs old.  She is marked beautifully and is sooo sweet she LOVES people.  She likes to headbutt and talk.  I have found that she isn't too fond of other cats. I think she is just afraid of them.   Judging from the bite marks on the tips of her ears, she has seen her share of battles.  However, I believe that she may be able to tolerate to a non-dominate male cat given a reasonable adjustment period.  

Beatrice has been completely vetted (tested for FIV/FeLK, Spayed shots including rabies shot, wormed, treated for fleas and  microchipped).  All she needs now is a loving  INDOOR ONLY  home with someone to call her very own. 

I am asking for a rehoming fee for her as I had to pay to have her vetted.

Jay: MY POST WAS ALL SET FOR TODAY, BUT THEN MOMMY WOKE UP EARLY THIS MORNING & SAW THIS - 

ONCE IN A LIFETIME PICS!!

SHE NEARLY FELL OUT OF BED!!  THEN SHE JUMPED UP & GRABBED HER FLASHY THINGY - (I'M NOT MAKING A FACE - MOMMY CAUGHT ME MID-YAWN!!)

THE ONLY THING SHE CAN FIGURE IS THAT NICO WAS TOO TIRED TO REALIZE THAT SIMON HAD SNUGGLED UP NEXT TO HIM!!  (AT FIRST SHE THOUGHT NICO HAD FINALLY WARMED UP TO HIM, BUT THEN NICO TOOK A SWAT AT HIM DURING BREAKFAST...)

...OK, SERIOUSLY - WHEN DO I GET TO POST MY STUFF?!

Nico:   Oh, come all ye young kitties that follow the sea
            to my way haye, blow the cat down,
            and pray pay attention and listen to me,
            GIVE ME SOME TIME TO BLOW THE CAT DOWN!!

It's Finally Friday...

Jay: SEE MOMMY?  I WAS A GOOD BROTHER WHILE SIMON WAS SICK - I CLEANED HIM TO MAKE HIM FEEL BETTER...  UNLIKE NICO WHO BOPPED HIM IN THE HEAD - REPEATEDLY!!

Update on Simon

Simon: Hi kitties, thanks so much for the purrs!!  I think they did the trick - Mom was so worried about me last night she worked from home today just to keep a close eye on me.  Late this morning she gave me some (GF) kibble (which I NEVER get - YUM!!!) & I kept it down ok & then she gave me some rabbit about an hour ago (triple YUM!!) & I'm fine!  In fact Jay & I have been racing up & down the stairs playing tag all day!  

You all must have SUPER purrs!!  YAY!

Simon:  Our Mom decided that with the extended weekend, she would move the table in the living room over toward the kitchen, make a lounge out of the sectional & watch movies!  Since Nico & Jay are still feuding (not sure why...) they decided to use the moved table as the backdrop (& sort of an obstacle) for their latest tiff.

As you can see, I was a spectator, too! (I'm no fool)  Nico may be slender & a bit awkward with those cool poly paws, but he's still quite a bit bigger than both me and Jay...  
So he usually wins!


...Doesn't stop Jay from trying tho

Simon's Back

Simon: Some of you kitties were wondering how my back was doing since I've been wearing these darn shirts for like, EVER!!  Well, Mom reluctantly took my shirt off today to show how my back was doing

She says it looks much better - but the yucky wounds are still there (you can't see them, but she can still easily feel them) & I could easily still pick at them -

She let me stay out of my shirt for a few hours & watched me closely - then she put another one on...  *sigh*

THE THING THAT'S COOL ABOUT THIS HIDING PLACE IS THAT IT ISN'T ALWAYS HERE - YOU SEE, WHENEVER ONE OF US FEELS SICK, WE ALL RUN UPSTAIRS TO THE SAME COMFORTING SPACE...

OUR FAVORITE PLACE TO GET SICK IS ON MOMMY'S DUV-ET...  BECAUSE SIMON LOVES TO EAT SO FAST & GETS SICK, MOMMY HAS HAD TO WASH HER DUV-ET LIKE A SQUILLION TIMES SINCE HE GOT HERE.  THAT'S WHY SHE HAD TO GET THOSE SPECIAL DISHES TO SLOW HIM DOWN!!  HE DOESN'T GET SICK TOO MUCH ANYMORE, BUT SHE DIDN'T CATCH HIM THE OTHER DAY WHEN HE SCARFED DOWN NICO'S FOOD & SHE HAD TO WASH IT AGAIN - WHICH GIVES ME THE BESTEST PLACE TO WAIT FOR NICO TO COME UP THE STAIRS!!

OOH!!  OOH!!  I THINK I HEAR HIM!!  SHHHH!

There's a horrible story (that is unfortunately all too common) over at Coveredincathair.com (Warning: There is use of profanity) about a little cat named Koko in Georgia in need of help after being abandoned in a carrier at a closed animal clinic - then was sent to a high kill shelter.  I swear...  I just don't understand some people!!  SHE ONLY HAS UNTIL THE END OF THIS WEEK BEFORE SHE'S PTS  Please help spread the word to any & everyone - especially anyone near Georgia!!


Funds are available/ can be raised for vetting and transport... as long as there is someone who can take her!
