The Beautiful Black Kitty is Saved - YAY!!!

Good News - I just read the updated post on Robin Olson's blog: http://coveredincathair.com

Not on My Watch: The Luckiest Black Cat Ever

I cannot believe the number of people who tweeted, re-posted, wrote articles, emailed their friends about this ONE black beauty! As of this afternoon, the little mama kitty was picked up by Bobbi, who is graciously taking her to the Vet so she'll be checked out and hopefully get a clean bill of health. Next stop-ARIZONA where she will be living with her new family! Tonight they're going to pick out a name for her!
AC 6.25.10 092B.jpg
I am completely stunned that this one cat, who surely would be facing her last hours, will now have the hopes of living out her days with a loving family. The odds she would have been rescued? Well according to Henry Co.'s stats, roughly 95% of cats that go in the door, never come out alive. Yes, I said 95%.
Not only is this mama being rescued, but another cat is also getting pulled, too! When we get the word out that cats need help, good people step up and say; "YES!" I will give that cat a home or "Yes! I will donate money for that cat's care!" It DOES take a village, as they say...

Look Fast!!

Our Mom finally got a picture of all three of us boys together - she's thrilled!

'Course I was acting as if those two bothersome twerps weren't near me - Jay actually wanted his picture taken & right after the camera took the picture, Simon went after him...  *sigh*  We're still getting used to him - One big happy family, right?

Beautiful Black Panther Needs Adoption Quickly!!!

In the south, the black cats are the first to be euthanized. No one wants them. Even if there is new research showing that black cats actually may have better genetics and live healthier lives and that they are notoriously friendly cats, the old stigma of being “bad luck” or evil is a tough one to shake.
AC 6.25.10 089.jpg

This beautiful, friendly creature looks more like a small panther than a housecat. She had kittens, but none were to be found. She is full of milk and is an intact female. She is available to ANYONE for adoption. You do NOT NEED A GA LICENSE TO ADOPT HER, BUT YOU HAVE TO PICK HER UP & PAY CASH FOR HER ADOPTION or have someone adopt her for you on your behalf.

THE INFORMATION, BELOW IS DIRECTLY FROM HENRY CO CARE & CONTROL in McDONOUGH, GA.:
----------------------------------------

PLEASE REFER TO THIS ID# 6/22-2455 WHEN YOU ASK AFTER THIS CAT.

AC 6.25.10 088.jpg
It is so rare that a black cat gets adopted from us.....unless of course it goes to my house :-)
This gorgeous young girl came in full of milk but we have no idea where her babies are. Sadly no one has come for her and she will be chosen first to go down since black cats never make it out.
AC 6.25.10 091.jpg
Please help us save her life. She is totally awesome.

She will not be held past Wednesday June 30th and will go down Thursday July 1st if rescue cannot be found (or if an adopter does not take her)

I'M HELPING!!

Jay:
ALL WEEKEND, OUR MOMMY HAS BEEN CLEANING & CLEANING - GETTING READY FOR HER FAMILY TO VISIT.  SHE PUT ALL OF THE FLUFFY WANDS THAT I CARRY AROUND IN ONE PLACE - BIG MISTAKE!!!  RATHER THAN POINT IT OUT TO HER, I JUST PUT THEM BACK WHERE THEY BELONG...

DOESN'T THAT LOOK MUCH BETTER???

Mom's Award - Whatever!

So, The Creek Cats gave our Mom an award & we've been trying to avoid letting her post it (you'd rather read about US, right??)  BUT, we guess we can't put this off any longer...  Go ahead, Mother (notice the sarcasm!)

This award is for us Moms who help our kitties blog. Answer the questions, then pick five Moms to pass it along to!

1. What would your prefect day consist of?
Sleeping in with the boys - Well, I know I can have Simon & JayJay cuddle with me - we're still working on Nico (party pooper) & a nice sunny relaxing day - where I don't have to clean or do laundry!

2. How would you describe yourself if you were an item of clothing?
A nice, comfortable pair of sweats - it's my uniform at home!

3. What hobbies are you currently working on?
I love throwing pottery (creating it, not tossing it!) Since I just moved to the area, I'm on the lookout for a place to practice

4. Walking in the woods in wellies or bare foot on the beach?
I love walking by the ocean - ironic that I just moved away from it!!
5. Have you ever hugged or sang to a tree?
Umm… not when I'm sober
6. Growing your own veggies or nipping to the supermarket?
I would love to grow my own veggies - but I kill all plants… Not sure why - but that big plant I bought from IKEA (that the kitties like to dig in) sadly knows it's days are numbered…
7. Have you found anyone exciting in your family tree?
Nope - Nobody famous or interesting here!
8. Slap up meal in a posh restaurant or fish ‘n’ chips from the wrapper?
Either/or - depends upon the mood!
9. Which element do you most resonate with, Earth, Air, Fire or water?
I've been told I have a fire sign - but I have to disagree, I don't think I'm very firey - maybe more airy…

10. Do you believe in fairies?
Nope - but I'd love to be proven wrong
We're passing this award on to the Moms of:

WE WANT YOU SIMON!!!!

Jay: OK - I KNOW THAT I HELPED NICO WRITE THE "WE HATE SIMON" RANT, BUT IN MY DEFENSE - HE WAS EGGING ME ON!!  ...Ok, Mommy - I'll use my inside voice for this story! (won't be easy tho... It's kinda long)

Well, it all started the day Mommy brought Simon home.  She noticed that his ears were missing some fur & figured either something was biting him or someone was beating up on him & since he was shaking his head a bit, she decided to take him to the v-e-t to make sure everything was ok...

As usual, when she went to pick him up, he cradled his head against her neck & relaxed - until he realized that she was putting him into the PTU - she tried to put a mousie that he was playing with in the PTU with him, but he took the opportunity to run - past me, past Nico (who hissed) & under the bed.  As she didn't have much time, Mommy had to pull Simon out & put him in the PTU.  Strike number one.  Even though he was a wonderful traveler as she drove home from Ohio, this time he cried the whole way - she felt awful & kept thinking about how it must've happened the first time he was abandoned at the shelter in Kentucky.

The v-e-t was pretty quick, but she had to do a scraping of his ear & his forehead to test for a certain type of parasite.  Strike number two.

When the v-e-t came back in to tell her that the test was negative, she did a cat scan (get it?) of his body to make sure that something called chip was working.  When it didn't register, Mommy got a little worried.  Even though Simon doesn't show any interest in going outside, we all know it only takes one time to get lost (I was never interested in going out either but when we lived in an apartment, my Grandma accidentally left the door open once.  Nico didn't budge, but she found me way over on the other side of the building wandering around!)

She called the service & they told her to take Simon to a different v-e-t.  She didn't want to do it, but had to make sure that chip was doing it's job.  This time, Simon saw her coming & dashed under the bed - as she didn't have too much time again, she brought out the treats & we all came running.  Same as before, she scooped him up & put him in the PTU & he cried.  Strike number three!! This new v-e-t had the right kind of cat scan & chip beeped!  However, Simon was so traumatized that when she got home & let him out, he ran under the bed & DIDN'T EVEN COME OUT FOR FOOD!!  She put some treats out for him & let him calm down for a while.  When she came back in to check on him - THEY STILL WEREN'T EATEN!!  Anybody who knows Simon knows that he loves food - EVEN MORE THAN I DO!!

(*ugh* I can't whisper anymore!)
SIMON, I KNOW WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN ALONG TOO WELL, BUT WE'RE ONLY RAGGING ON YOU 'CAUSE WE KNOW YOU AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE!  PLEASE COME OUT & PLAY AGAIN!!!

PS. THE V-E-T SAID SHE THINKS SIMON MIGHT BE A DARK CHOCOLATE POINT INSTEAD OF A SEAL POINT (HE'S NOT NEARLY AS DARK AS NICO)!!  ...DARK CHOCOLATE - HAHAHAHA!

Good News for Miles - (One of the Meezer Boys)

Mr. Miles has an announcement....

Hi Everyone,
I GOT A WONDERFUL NEW FOREVER HOME!!!    YIPEE!!!!
A very nice lady named Judy (with a Y) came by tonight and now I am on my way home with her to my FOREVER home.  I'm pretty confused right now cause I was starting to think Judi (with an I) was going to be my new Mom but she explained that I was in a place called a "Foster Home" so she kissed and hugged me goodbye and told me I was going to have a wonderful new home,  so I believed her.

I want to thank everyone for all your help in spreading the news about me and my family.  I really do appreciate your help as we are all alive today instead of the "other thing" known as PTS (Put To Sleep), whatever that is... Foster Mom Judi said "That's Not a Good Thing".

I especially want to Thank Cory for fighting/blogging  for All of Us.  Cory also gave my Brother, Simon (his new name) fka Bubba, a wonderful new home and Bridget for giving my Baby Sister Stella nka Yum Yum, a new loving home.  You guys are the greatest in my book. (Cory: & thanks to all of the blogging kitties & their humans for helping to spread the word!!)

I'm told I have four new Brothers and a Sister.  At least there won't be as many cats as Foster Mom Judi had.  Maybe I will settle in sooner.  The two Moms in my life,  told me to tell everyone not to worry about me ever again, that I will be loved and wanted forever.

Thank You All Again,   Miles (for now) never know what I might be named later.   New Mom Judy said that Miles will always be part of my name (even if it is a middle or last name).

Simon's First Award!!

Thank you Alasandra for this wonderful award!!

Here are 9 interesting things about myself:

1. Although I am a talker, I do not have a meezer yowl!  When my new lady first heard me, she was surprised that I had such a soft voice.

2. I am SOOO food aggressive!!  I LOVES FOOD!!  I love it so much that the lady has to put me in another room when she feeds us kitties - otherwise I'll knock everyone away to gobble up their food, too!  The lady wonders if I had to compete for food with my five other meezer siblings...

3. I am a small, little cat  - a little smaller than JayJay!  The lady guesses that I weigh about 8.5 - 9 lbs.!

4. I am über affectionate!  I loves people, kitties - maybe even woofies!  Every time the lady is sitting, I have to cuddle up next to her (Mom: I LOVE that he does this!!)

5. Between the two kitties that live here, I prefer to follow Nico around (much to his annoyance - he's the one who likes me less - so I have to win him over)

6. I love feather wands - I will play with them as long as you let me!!  I don't carry them around in my mouth like JayJay does, though.

7. The lady thinks she discovered why JayJay ran through the screen - I've come bounding up to him, wanting to play & he jumps like a million feet in the air!  I've done this several times.

8. I'm extremely patient with the other kitties that live here - I'll come up & sit near them, if they growl, I move a little farther away.  If they don't growl, I'll sit there for a little while & slowly inch my way toward them - I don't want to spook them, I just want to be friends!  We all know you don't make friends overnight!  (Mom: Still trying to get a picture of this!)

9. I'm very happy here!  The lady is so nice to me & I get to sleep next to her all the time!  Don't worry too much about me making friends - I'll wear these boys down soon!  I'm making great progress with JayJay - he didn't even hiss at me tonight when I brushed past where he was napping!  Nico, well...  that's another story (I'll get him to like me too, I just know it!)

9A. Oh & to address my supposed "smelliness" - I just got snipped last week!!  Good catness - it'll be a few weeks before my manlycat smell goes away!  Deal with it - besides, the lady doesn't think I smell at all!!

We've been talking & we know this award has made it around to just about all of the blogging kitties - we've checked!!  Any kitty who would like to share 9 things about his/herself - TAKE IT!!  We LOVE to read these - it helps us to get to know you better!!!

WE HATE SIMON RANT!!

Nico & JayJay:

Ok, we know that this rant might not be too popular, but darn it we're taking our blog back to give the

TOP 15 REASONS WHY WE HATE SIMON!!

1. He's stinky - like a Tommy Cat!

2. He's WAY more food aggressive than Jay is! (Jay: NOT COOL!)

3. He has NO respect for personal space - always trying to headbutt us!

4. He's smelly!  Really, he is!

5. He follows our Mom around, looking for attention (Jay: SUCK UP!!)

6. He's sleeping on MY BLANKET!!

7. Mom called Jay a spaz after Simon startled him & he ranned thru the screen (Jay: WHO'S THE VICTIM HERE?? OH, & ATTIE - I AM NOT A MEANIEHEAD!!!)

8. He's SOOO Smelly - Seriously, can't you smell it???

9. He took over Jay's spot on the bed because our Mom can't stand to lock him in the bathroom!

10. He used OUR litterbox!!!  (Mom: in his defense, Jay - you used his!)  (Jay: WHAT'S YOUR POINT??)
11. HE SMELLS!!

12. He took over OUR cat tree - Woman, move it out of the bedroom so we can use it!

13. Our Mom now calls him her "cutie little meezer boy"  What the heck Woman, WHAT AM I???

14. He's making our Mom sneeze (Mom: boys - I was sneezing before he got here)

15. HE SMELLS BAD!!!

This concludes our rant - & ps. these pheromone collars smell awesome!!)

Really??

Really??!  Do you hate me that much, THAT much?  It's day four - that's right, only day four & I managed to continue NOT making friends with these kitties!!  The lady was upstairs folding clothes when she heard a shriek & a scramble of little paws running across the hardwood floor downstairs.  She came running down to find JayJay outside - OUTSIDE of the house!!  I made him so mad he RANNED THROUGH THE SCREEN!!

I think he must be strung-high or something...  *sigh*

(Mom: We're VERY lucky that 1. No one was hurt from that squabble 2. Jay was just outside on the patio upset & came RIGHT back in when I called to him & 3. I have the nicest couple for landlords - they have kitties, too - & just asked me to let them know when it was fixed!)

Introducing Simon!!

Hiya!  My name is Simon Hunter Alexander Meezer!!

TLWTCOMN (The Lady Who Takes Care Of Me Now) had to drive 14+ hours almost straight to get me home!  But she promised that I could tell the story today -

On Friday I was loaded up early in the morning with my brothers & sister into a big long metal monster & we headed up to someplace called Ohi-o.  I was very scared & worried because we were all separated into different PTUs.  The trip was hours & hours - I couldn't see anything 'cept the back of the driver's head!!  Jazz, my oldest brother, was so upset at being in the PTU that he struggled & scratched at the metal bars until his poor little paws got leaky - the driver stopped & took him to a V-E-T to get fixed up, but he left the van running so that the rest of us kitties wouldn't get hot.  Finally we stopped in someplace called Columbus & some of my brothers went away.  A few minutes later, we were on the move again - I was very worried at this point...  I didn't know what was going to happen!!  This time we stopped in someplace called Mansfield.  The van doors opened up & this lady climbed in.  I knew in an instant that she was going to help me - I just knew it!  She was so nice & talked so sweetly to me & my sister that I felt a little better.  She brought her own PTU with her & when she opened my door, she asked me to get into hers - No pulling or pushing - she just asked!  Since my own PTU was yucky & smelly (I, um had a little accident), I went right in - It was nice & roomy, plus it had a nice cushy pillow!  She exchanged a few words with the driver & this other lady (I think her name was Judi) & then we set off in her big metal monster.  This trip was hours & hours - but I was so comfy in this new PTU that I stopped crying!  I was so quiet that the lady stopped half way to check on me to make sure I was ok - but I just looked at her & mewed that I was fine.

Finally, late in the evening we stopped at someplace the lady called "home".  She brought me inside & introduced me to two new kitties - she said they were my new brothers, Nico & JayJay.  Which was weird, 'cause I already had brothers of my own!  What the heck was she talking about??  The little cat named JayJay came up to my PTU, looked in & hissed.  I didn't like that one bit!

Then she took me upstairs & put me into the bathroom.  As if I hadn't been through enough today - she came at me with a soapy warm cloth!  Didn't she know I knew how to clean myself??  I didn't like that either so I ran & hid in the bathtub behind the curtain - I kept asking her where I was & where my family was & WHY SHE INSISTED ON RUBBING AT ME WITH THE SOAPY CLOTH!!!  (she said I was a stinky-poo)

She gave me some really yummy stinky goodness to make up for the soapy cloth & I was sooo hungry that I gobbled it all up in only a few bites!  Unfortunately then she closed the door on me & I was left alone...  So I cried.  A little while later, the lady came back in & said that everything was set up & she carried me into another room where she laid down with me.  It was very nice - but I kept asking her what happened & where my family was.  I was so confused!

The next day I woke up & the nice lady was still sleeping.  So I mewed a little & she woke up.  She said it was time to get to know the boys & opened the door.  I walked out & looked around - it was very different here!  The lady grabbed her blanket & headed downstairs, so I followed.  There I met another meezer - he looked just like me!  Except he was big & long with huge paws!  I went right up to him & said hi!!  But he just backed away & hissed!  What the heck is wrong with these kitties??

I guess the lady was so worn out from the trip (I was too - why did she have to sleep so much??) She set up her blankets on the couch & laid down again, but she started asking me what my name was.  I told her that my name was Bubba but I didn't respond to it...  (she tried to call me by that name & I walked the other way) So, she started calling out names - Prince!  Ashley!  Bartho-le-Mew!  Didn't like any of these, so I didn't respond.  She kept going - Barnaby!  Barney Miller!  Beauregard!  Nothing. More name calling... After several more, she called out Simon - I liked that one, I even mewed!  She took that as a sign & started calling me Simon.  That's my new name!  She said my full name was going to be Simon Hunter (because I was on the hunt for a new home - Thanks to Jacqueline & her kitties) Alexander (because she said it fit) meezer!

Anyway, that's my story so far - I hope these kitties will warm up to me, I really need a friend!  The lady said I could start blogging on here & that I could probably find some blogging kitty friends in the meantime.  Will you be my friend??

We know everyone wants to know when TCFKAB (the cat formerly known as Bubba) is going to arrive - our Mom included!  She's been on pins and needles all week!  But there was a delivery snafu & TCFKAB wasn't going to be able to be delivered to Fort Wayne, IN until Sunday...  Well, that was FINE with us, but our Mom couldn't wait, so she's making plans to drive the whole way to Ohio to pick him on Friday!!  (Mom: YAY!!)

Judi's Kitties

Happy Wednesday!  Nico here - with Jay making a few side notes...  Some not appreciated. (Jay: HEHE! - IT'S FUN TO ANNOY YOU!)

According to the time line that Mom was given, the meezer boys should've been pulled yesterday & should've gone to the vet to take care of all of their shots & things (including TCFKAB's hoo-haectomy).  By today they should be on the road to Ohio & FREEDOM!!!  YAY!

Mom's getting a little antsy - she wants to hurry up & get TCFKAB so that he can hurry up & start settling in with us...  WE don't have a problem waiting!

Between getting the house ready for our new brother, setting up our posts & the chaos at Mom's "work" (they're STILL making changes to her artwork!), we've barely had time to visit our friends!!!  I think me & Jay should consider trading in this model & getting a new one - she isn't cutting it...  So in other words, we promise we will be around to visit everyone as soon as we can!!

ANYWAY, because Judi's a self proclaimed Crazy Cat Lady status, we thought we would post some pictures of her rescues that she sent us!

This is ChuckE - He kinda looks like me!
This is Odie - He looks like me, too!  (Jay: NAH, THEY'RE BETTER LOOKING THAN YOU!)
Quiet, brat!

This is Abigail - she kinda looks like Jay!  (JayJay: SHE'S BEAUTIFUL!!)
This is Remy LeFeets (Feets for short) - he doesn't look too much like me, but he's a POLY MEEZER like me - YAY!!!
This is Minnie Mouse - she doesn't look like either of us, but she likes boxes, like Jay! (Jay:  SHE'S BEAUTIFUL, TOO!  I LIKE THE GIRL KITTIES!)
And Finally - here's the reason she calls herself a Crazy Cat Lady!!  & Mom thought her bed was crowded with just Jay!

We hope you enjoyed the pictures!  We'll post an ETA on TCFKAB as soon as we get the information! & as always - If you know of anyone looking for a meezer friend, please contact Judi at redheadone@sssnet.com

Meezer Colors Day

*Gasp* I almost forgot it was Meezer Colors Day today from the Meezer Tails posting!!!  Here's my post celebrating my colors!! (Mom got a little artistic with this shot)

If you know of anyone looking for a meezer friend, please contact Judi at redheadone@sssnet.com

Yay!! We can blog again!!

We're so glad blogger is working again!!  We weren't sure if the problems last night were blogger's error or human error (notice we didn't say "user error"  WE don't make errors - our STAFF does).  But this afternoon, we saw Jan's message on the CB about blogger being down & so Mom's off the hook - this time...

(Mom: I would've been climbing the walls if blogger had crashed last Friday - with the meezer emergency!)

Anyway, like we said yesterday - we received an email from TCFKAB (The Cat Formerly Known As Bubba) so we thought we'd post it:

Hi Nico and Jay,  This is your new bwooduer Bubba.  I want to Thank You with all of my heart for offering me a Loving Forever Home.  I promise to be the bestest bwoodure you have even knowned. I promise not to be too much of a pain in the b***, but pls give me some time cause I have been haven' a lotta bad stuff happenin' in my life lately.  I was taken away from my Mom and Dad, froaded in a nasty place called a shelter there was no cushy beds like I had at my house, I had to be seperated from my bwoodures and sissies probably never to seed them again, they are going to make me a part gurl (neutered) then I gotta be put in a  van for 5 to 6 hrs.  and brought to a place called OHIO.  I don't have clue where that's  at, does you?? Then I's got to live at a Crazy Old Cat Ladies house until she can bringdids  me to Che-coggo. Then I's probably  going to have to go thru you guys hissing and not liking me. I am going to be a physical and mental wreck for awhile but I is sure that your and now my new Momma will make sure that I will get a lots of love n' understandin"
PS,  Remember I has a Southern Accent.
Regards,
Bubba...  but not for long (yeah gonna' haveta git a new name, too)

Mom's going to meet the Crazy Old Cat Lady (Judi - the cat rescuer!) in Fort Wayne, IN to pick up Bubba.  We told her she didn't HAVE to...  But apparently she's all excited - what the heck, Woman??  What are we - kumquats?

We're still taking suggestions on what to name Bubba - When he gets here, we'll decide what name suits him the best!

ps. If you know of anyone looking for a friend - a meezer friend, please contact Judi at redheadone@sssnet.com
