Transitions

Happy Memorial Day!!

We wish all of the American kitties (& their families) a very happy holiday - & for those kitties outside of the US - We hope you have a wonderful day as well!

However, in our household - Panic!  Chaos!  Dispair!!
Our crunchies have been stolen!  Some time ago, we noticed that the all-you-can-eat crunchies bowl disappeared & only reappeared at night.  ...Ok - we must admit, we do like getting all of this canned food!  But yesterday morning, our Mom prepared & gave us raw meat, raw meat for food!!  Sheesh, Woman - what do you think we are, animals???

(The Mom: If you'd like to find out why, click here.  Just a warning, though - it's a LOOONG read!)

  1. Yeah the Woman keeps trying to feed us raw meat too--and we keep refusing...

  3. The same thing is happening to us. Our mum is not happy about us having dry food now we are getting older and has almost got us on wet food only. We still have a very few crunchies, but when they are gone, they are gone. I am not happy! I (Eric)love my crunchies and I sulk when the dish is empty. Flynn prefers wet food though. Mum has tried giving us raw food and we told her we would rather starve than eat that stuff. Mouse is okay though, but she never offers that to us.

  4. Good luck to your human transitioning to raw food. A couple of my co-workers have, but my cats won't even eat human cooked food. At least Annie likes canned, doesn't like dry. Nicki will eat both, but Derry has to be starving before he'll touch canned. He's a tough kibble-head to crack!

What about grain-free canned as an alternative? (I haven't read the post as to why.) IMO, raw still is the way to go, if you can get them on it.

  5. Our Mommy read that exact same article! Grayce had two 2mm bladder stones removed in March ($900!) and the vet wanted to start her on some special prescription food. Well, we were free-fed dry crunchies and the cost was gonna be unreal. Long story short, we now eat canned exclusively and Mommy is transitioning us to raw. NO CRUNCHIES! That prescription food was cr@p, BTW, very high carbo load.
All 12 of us have lost weight, Grayce almost a whole pound! She's a new cat! And her persistant itchy dandruff is gone, too. So keep it up guys, you'll be happy you did.

  6. Our mom prepared raw food for us once too. Some of us ate it and some of us didn't. She said it's much healthier than commercial foods. Just a lot of work for her, since there are seven of us.

  8. YIKES -we love our crunchies! We're going to have to put a lock on them so they don't get stolen.

  9. We lost our never-ending crunchies bowl too. We are getting used to it though, cuz the stinkey goodness is really good stuff. We get a handful of crunchies each day as a treat.

The only raw food we get is bits of the stuff The Big Thing is preparin fer his own dinner, but that DOES make it special!

  10. We all loved our crunchies, but mum has us on mostly canned stinky goodness now. I am the only one that will eat raw food, so I get raw. I LOVE it so much. It is super tasty. (I also get raw chicken livers as snacks.) The only time we ever get crunchies now is when they are special treats.

I hope that you will like having the raw food. It takes a bit to get used to, but it is super delicious. :)
