Really??

Really??!  Do you hate me that much, THAT much?  It's day four - that's right, only day four & I managed to continue NOT making friends with these kitties!!  The lady was upstairs folding clothes when she heard a shriek & a scramble of little paws running across the hardwood floor downstairs.  She came running down to find JayJay outside - OUTSIDE of the house!!  I made him so mad he RANNED THROUGH THE SCREEN!!

I think he must be strung-high or something...  *sigh*

(Mom: We're VERY lucky that 1. No one was hurt from that squabble 2. Jay was just outside on the patio upset & came RIGHT back in when I called to him & 3. I have the nicest couple for landlords - they have kitties, too - & just asked me to let them know when it was fixed!)

  4. Wow, that is terrible, but we're glad everyone is ok...Maybe you should try the phermone collars or a Feliway diffuser to help calm them down...Maybe they should be separated for a while=I kept Sukki in a room by herself for 2 weeks (she a was 16 month old adult kitty and was healing from being fixed too) to allow Calle/Halle to get used to her smells...They still fight, usually playfully, but they love each other and hang out together constantly...Good luck and hang in there; it will take some time, but they will end up loving each other...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki

  5. Aw man, you guys, can't you all just get along? (That said, I'm a little bit impressed with JayJay's stunt!)

On the practical side, I think Jacqueline has some good suggestions. I am the youngest here, so I know what it's like having two senior kitties to dominate. The first few weeks after I came home, my human never let me out of her sight (she works at home, and I spent all day in the office with her), and for a while (I don't remember how long now), I had to sleep in the downstairs bathroom until it was safe for me to be alone with the other two cats.

  6. Whoa! Talk about a scare! We didn't realize that was possible, either, but are so glad JayJay (and everyone else) is okay. Definitely give one of those calming collars a try-they are pheromone collars, I believe. I know other CB moms have used them with success. They were about $15 Canadian at PetSmart, are good for one month.

Fingers (and paws) crossed that everyone will settle down soon!

  7. oh gosh, I'm so glad that everything is okay with the kitty.I'm a indoor cat here, I only go out of our balcony with mommy .She said it's dangerous mainly because there are no "net"for animals at the balcony and we live in a building.
    Take care okay dear friends,

  8. Oh dear JayJay, that was a bit extreme wasn't it? Still, it's early days yet and Simon, you are probably a bit intimidating because you will still be giving off your mancat smells. You will soon get them out of your system and hopefully your new brothers will see that you are a sweetie really.

  10. We agree with Jaqueline! We have "Figaro" "Freeta" ...whatever his name is in a room by himself. Not only because he has an intestinal bug, but because mom has always kept us newcomers in a room by themselves for 2 weeks (at least). Our Nigel was an extreme case and he wasn't ready to come out for 4 months!!!! My momma Ellie and I were quick studies and came out after 1.5 weeks! It will give everyone time to adjust and get used to the idea.

Big purrs to all of you!

  13. Right thruogh the screen!?! Meowza!
Mommy and Daddy have always sequestered the "newbie" for a couple of weeks. Maui took a while longer; he was a real "tommy" TomCat and took a while to calm down. Truly, he stank like TomCat...and if Mommy could smell it, imagine us Cats! Take it slow and everyone will be fine.
    Hugs from alla us!

  15. Wow, what a scare! We didn't realize that was possible. Jan puts a gate in front of our screen when she opens the back door because she's afraid one or more of the dogs might get carried away and run through the screen. But it never occurred to her one of us kitties could do it.

  16. JayJay, you wented THROUGH the screen?! i has to confess, i never even thought of that when my mommeh brought BA home. i wish that i had. woulda saved me some headaches. still though, i thinks you may be overreacting to poor Simon just a little. you gots to unnerstand how hard this is for him and how verreh VERREH sad he must be, cause after all he losted his whole entire family, and now here you are being a meaniehead to him on top of it. he just wants to be your furrend.

  17. oh dear. We knows that it's hard for you right now Simon, but things will get better - we promise. We is so sorry that you haf been through so much stress.

JayJay - ME knows how you feels - outnumbered by those Meezer types. But they are good for a snuggle once in a while - so gif Simon a chance. ME knows it's hard though - Billy

  19. We're glad efurryone is OK...and we've worried about that happening here too, but from excitement to get to a bird or squirrel. In face Mom saw Ping launch himself against the screen, but he bounced off. But it took me months and months to get along with everyone...and Mom had to keep me separated in my own room.

    purrs

  21. Uh oh... We are glad noone was hurt. Mummy says that her woofie (our distant brother) used to do that and run through the screen, but he was much bigger, like a corgi!
    Go FELIWAY!

On the other paw... I had a fight with my brother today and Mummy was having a nap. She woke to my screams and yelled a quick 'no'! And then we calmed down. But then there were TUFTS of my precious FUR on the floor. I don't like my brother much.
